Life can feel like a scribble. It can feel like a tangled skein of yarn, disorganized, knotty, impossible to sort.
Life can be a cacophony of sound and stimuli, sensory overload coming at us faster than we can even begin to process.
Orchestras’s emit a blast of seemingly erratic sound when tuning, until the conductor raises their hands to capture the chaos and shape it into a unified, connected effort and sound.
Maestrix invites us into the role of conductor in our own lives. Whatever comes our way, we alone are the only ones who can direct our symphony in the way that is unique to us. While we can listen and learn from the way others conduct, even an almost identical piece of music and circumstance can never be duplicated. Every performance, like every life, is its own interpretation. Every choice, action, inaction, crescendo, decrescendo….every dynamic….every stop and start…every expression is wholly its own. Our own.
Every piece has a place, and is beautiful in its own right. Every piece is composed of hundreds of hours of experimentation and errors, frustrations and pure joy. Each piece is part of someone’s heart and soul, a small piece of someone else’s life.
Maestro and Maetsra are Italian gendered terms often used to denote an accomplished musical mind who conducts music. It is also more widely used for someone who has gained artistic mastery, a distinguished person in any sphere. While we may not feel accomplished or masterful in any given moment, Maestrix reminds is that even when we feel out of control , it is only us as individuals who can achieve the artistic mastery of own own lives. Maestrix is here to remind us that looking outside of ourselves to gain these skills will never get us fully there. Deep attunement and listening to our inner wisdom is essential.
You may notice that Maestrix is conducting with scissor hands and has a glowing heart. Maestrix reminds us that we will need to cut through bullshit to gain mastery and become the conductor of our own lives. It can be challenging to know what to cut, what to discard, and what to sew together. Maestrix uses their heart as a compass to direct their blades, and encourages us to follow suit. When all else fails, when the choppy seas are too foggy to see the shore, Maestrix invites us to follow the glowing lighthouse of our hearts to guide the way. It may not be the easiest ride, and it will take us each where we need to go.
Things to consider:
Are there ways you have been allowing the energy of others to conduct your life?
What practices do you have to help you step out of the stream of stimuli happening around you to find your own inner attunement. If none, what helps you cut out the noise and access your own inner wisdom. Do more of that please!
Are there things you can think of right now that need to be trimmed, cut, moved, shifted so that the symphony of your life attunes to your heart’s calling?
While not engaging, disassociating, and ignoring can be survival/coping skills, it can also lead us into consequences that take us far from where we long to be. Is there a place(s) in your life where you feel you can take one small step towards directing towards a more aligned outcome?
