Transformative Healing:
Every single one of us alive has experienced trauma and injury. None of us gets through this life unscathed.
I am in awe of you, incredible being, for all that you have traversed to come to this moment in time when you are taking this moment to care for yourself, and see what messages are here for you.
I would never wish upon you the hardships that you have experienced. And in these challenges, mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, you have been transformed. As they say in the musical Wicked “Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But…I have been changed for good.”
This being is injured. They are bandaged and their heart has been stitched. Still, they sit focused and fixed on receiving transformative healing.
They are receiving an infusion of butterfly medicine. This transformative being moves from an egg, to a caterpillar, to protein goo, and then eats through its chrysalis home to emerge flying. It’s process is messy. I imagine it may be painful and uncomfortable to melt completely then reconstitute. I imagine the dark may be scary.
This beings form is also not fixed, but rather in a process of transforming.
If this card has come to you today, the invitation is allow yourself some time and space to allow the injured parts of you to see how you are kin to the butterfly. This can happen in just a moment, maybe this moment, or in a longer focused mediation. How do you let its message move through you, and outward from your heart, to affect change within and outside of you? How can you be even MORE receptive to the messages hardship offers? How can you deepen your intimacy with yourself, and others, through this process. What kind of music flows out from your heart when you find harmony in your transformative expereinces?
From Kahlil Gibran “On Pain”
Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding.
Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain.
And could you keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life your pain would not seem less wondrous than your joy;
And you would accept the seasons of your heart, even as you have always accepted the seasons that pass over your fields.
And you would watch with serenity through the winters of your grief.
