This being is looking deeply and vulnerably into our eyes asking us “Will you love me? Will you accept me? Will you look at me? Will you see me?”

They are soft and moveable like rich fertile soil, and they are hard and layered like a rock formation. They carry the weight of the world in their bodies, layer upon layer of every trauma, every pleasure, every discovery that has ever been in humanity.

We all carry this lineage.

If “Weight of the World” has come into our consciousness today, they are holding up a mirror of inquiry into who we think we are, and who we actually are. They remind us that time, experience and environment all shape us in ways we appreciate and ways that are far less flattering. Often we are unaware of how we have been/are being influenced until someone from the outside looks in and shows us. Today, that mirror is this being.

“Weight of the World” reminds us that we have earned every scar, every freckle, every layer that comprises who we are - inside and out. They model for us that there is beauty in being brave by showing ourselves fully - offering us the potential to be truly seen for all that we are - even the pieces the world has not deemed “pretty.” They invite us to examine the curated self that we put forward on the Internet, at parties, at work and assess if we are preventing others from truly seeing us, perpetuating the story that no one can.

When we lie, we kill a piece of the world. We all carry an essential part of the story of LIFE, when we tell it falsely the soil sours, when when tell it truly, we offer other beings the opportunity to see themselves reflected and we are all less alone.

Yes, some people will judge us. Some people will be uncomfortable and look away. Wherever they are on their journey, they are being impacted by an expression that they either do not understand, or are too afraid themselves to express. We may never know what doors we are opening within them, but more importantly, we are opening doors to our own authenticity, honoring every part of our process, and forging new paths of possibility for relating with LIFE.

Will we see the beauty in their wisdom, in their scars, in their expression, or we look at them in disdain, afraid of what we might become ourselves?

Points to Consider:

  • What doors might open in my life if I chose to live more authentically? How might my truth-telling inspire or free others—even if I never see the outcome? What would it look like to honor every part of my process, even the messy or unfinished parts?

  • When have I judged someone for being vulnerable or expressive—what did that bring up in me? What fears am I projecting when I look away from someone’s raw truth? How do I respond when someone’s authenticity challenges my comfort?

  • In what ways might I be telling a false version of my story—intentionally or not? What feels risky about telling the truth of my life, and what might be liberated if I did? How does honesty in my self-expression create connection for others?

  • Can I find beauty in the parts of me that the world may not celebrate? What scars or “imperfections” have taught me the most about life ? How might I practice bravery by allowing myself to be fully visible?

  • What parts of myself am I still longing for others to see and accept? What parts of myself am I still longing for others to see and accept? When was the last time I truly felt seen—and what allowed that to happen? Do I allow myself to look at others with the same depth and compassion I wish to receive?
